Back to School at Pease Park: Peasecology School Field Trips
The Peasecology School Field Trip program grew exponentially during its second school year! Pease Park Conservancy had the privilege of connecting with teachers who experienced our outdoor learning opportunities with their classes and then recommended the program to their colleagues.
For the 2023-2024 school year, we partnered with the AISD Outdoor Learning Specialist to formulate a relationship and funnel more schools to the park to participate in the program.
Process for Upcoming School Year (2024-2025)

Once the school year begins, a member of the Conservancy’s team will contact you to get your excursion scheduled.
About the Peasecology School Field Trip Program
The Peasecology School Field Trip program is part of Pease Park Conservancy’s commitment to environmental learning and the use of Pease Park as an outdoor classroom. The program began in spring of 2023 as a partnership between Pease Park Conservancy and Families in Nature. Initial training was offered to Conservancy staff from Families in Nature and Pease Park Conservancy team members now lead these excursions.
The program is part of the organization’s learning pillar and aims to:
Engage students in an outdoor setting
Use Pease Park as an outdoor classroom
Inspire the next generation of environmental leaders
Create equitable, accessible, and TEKS-aligned learning opportunities
Pease Park Conservancy and its staff recognize the value of environmental learning and are acutely aware of the disparities in available resources. To help break barriers and bridge the gaps in equitable environmental learning, we do not charge Title-1 schools for their participation and we cover the costs of transportation and a pizza lunch as well. Though donations are suggested for schools that are not Title-1, we do not charge any school for participation in the program.
